Mortuos Plango, Vivos Loco

The Music, Technology & Innovation BA at Leicester's DMU was a wonderful course. Though what started with excellent feedback and straight first class marks in composition, ended with me dropping the third year. I chose a wrong module, and instead of studying in the summertime to re-take it in september, i came back to Athens, fell in love with someone special and fucked it altogether. In the meantime i'd managed to do music for two well-received theatre plays, discover some amazing electro-acoustic composers, hang out with lots of cool people and rip loads of good music from the library. Let alone all the good stuff that you get from academic study, blah blah.

Why am i writing this: one of the most vivid memories from these 2 years was listening to Jonathan Harvey's Mortuos Plango, Vivos Loco from a great speaker system in the vast amphitheatre, with tutors urging us to close our eyes while listening in order to enhance the experience (which i did), resulting to one of the most surreal musical trips i've ever had.

And while i was typing, i decided to upload Harvey's Ritual Melodies as well.
